Tell a Child In Gaza’s Tale

(Mon 28 Oct: 2pm) Help build a real-time bridge between Gaza and the worldwide community of storytelling. Hosted by Haneen Khaled Jadallah, with storytellers David Heathfield and Jackie Ross, and the voices of Gaza’s children and young people, this worldwide intercultural storytelling project Tell a Child In Gaza’s Tale amplifies the powerful voices and celebrates the creative story choices of young Palestinians. In this online gathering you will find out how Tell a Child in Gaza’s Tale is being welcomed into homes and learning spaces around the world, offering us all opportunities to talk about Palestine sensitively and humanistically. We will also learn to retell Malak in Gaza’s short tale about how to live the best life and be told a tale live by Deema, a Young International Storyteller from Gaza, and find out about the impact of the project on her and the people around her. Passing on such precious treasures freely given by young storytellers whose hearts shine on brightly in the deepest darkness is a simple way for people worldwide to deepen our understanding and let young Palestinians thrive as members of our global human family. Hear the deeply felt messages of solidarity that people of all ages around the world are sending as they enjoy learning and retelling the stories they have learned from young people in Gaza. ~~~~~~~~~~ 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
