Harp and Carp: Doom Creeps In
Go Local Glasgow and West Scotland
(Sun 1 Nov: 7pm)
Harp and Carp is the brainchild of storyteller Daniel Serridge and harper Neil Wood. Drawing on their interest in folk and ceilidh culture, they share stories and music from the folk tradition inspired by each others' rhythms, pace and power. Daniel and Neil combine traditional folk tales and tunes with improvised arrangements of power and precision to create a uniquely moving and meditative experience. In this night of chillingly dark ghost stories be prepared to hold someone extremely close as the duo tell tales of horrors and beasts from across the Japanese Yokai tradition and beyond. Featuring special guests singer/guitarist Heather Cartwright and storyteller Andrew Wilson.
At The Old Hairdressers, Renfield Ln, Glasgow, G2 5AR.

This year’s Festival explores the rich relationship between storytelling and the natural world through our theme Bird and Beast. Alongside a vibrant programme at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh, storytellers across Scotland bring these tales to life this autumn through the Go Local programme. We proudly celebrate Scotland’s cèilidh tradition with an invitation into the story circle, extending a warm welcome to international guests who share their stories, traditions and contemporary practices alongside Scotland’s own world-class talent. Join us for some unforgettable tales and moments that bring us closer to nature, as we follow the trail of footprints and feathers and let our imagination take flight.
