Tales from the Castle Walls: The Gateway to the North
Go Local - Stirling

(Wed 29 Oct: 10:30am, 12pm & 2pm - Stirling)
Storyteller Caroline Carmichael and Stirling makar Laura Fyfe bring you stories and poems that respond to the lives of the ordinary people of Stirling Castle, and Argyll and Sutherland regiment. It’s a place where Gaelic meets Scots, and the gateway to the north. Stories will be in English, with a distinct Gaelic and Scots flavour.
At Stirling Castle, Castle Wynd, FK8 1EJ.

Discover a rich programme of local storytelling events, from the southwest to the very north of Scotland through Go Local as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival 2025. The Festival tracks a rich northern arc which bridges Finland to Iceland, and connects Germany to Norway, with Scotland a sea road junction in the middle. Don’t miss out on the tales and music or the close experience of nature. As winter gathers round the hearth fires, look north to join the merry dancers in the sky!
Tickets to this event are included in the Stirling Castle entry ticket. For more information visit www.historicenvironment.scot. For school and community bookings contact Kirsten Wood by email kirsten.wood@hes.scot or phone 07798687894.
