Who Cares for Death?
Go Local - North East

(Tue 28 Oct: 6:30pm - Aberdeen)
Norwegian storyteller Mimesis Heidi Dahlsveen shares stories on the inevitable concept of death and, throughout the evening, we encounter death as it is characterized in Norwegian folktales, legends, and Old Norse poetry and prose. The storytelling performance explores the topic with a distinct emphasis on both the poetic and the humorous.
Hosted by GAS (Grampian Association of Storytellers) and Elphinstone Institute. At the Sir Duncan Rice Library, Bedford Rd, AB24 3AA.

Discover a rich programme of local storytelling events, from the southwest to the very north of Scotland through Go Local as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival 2025. The Festival tracks a rich northern arc which bridges Finland to Iceland, and connects Germany to Norway, with Scotland a sea road junction in the middle. Don’t miss out on the tales and music or the close experience of nature. As winter gathers round the hearth fires, look north to join the merry dancers in the sky!
This event is free and ticketed. For more information email the Grampian Association of Storytellers on gas_story@hotmail.com, visit abdn.ac.uk/elphinstone or contact the Elphinstone Institute by email elphinstone@abdn.ac.uk or phone 01224 272 996.
